Welcome to Madison Stitch: Where Craftsmanship Meets Western Chic

In a world of fleeting trends and disposable goods, Madison Stitch stands as a testament to the timeless, the authentic, and the enduring. Born out of resilience and built on a foundation of craftsmanship and community, we create heirloom-quality leather goods that tell a story — not just of where they’ve been, but of where they’ll take you.

Our Origins: Crafting Through Adversity

Madison Stitch began in the Spring of 2020, during a time when the world seemed to stand still. Founder John Pryor, working out of his Madison Flitch furniture studio, turned to handcrafting face masks to stay afloat. What started as a small effort to meet local needs quickly grew into a massive endeavor, with over 35,000 masks made, sold, and donated in just a few months.

But Madison Stitch wasn’t just about masks. It was about people — connecting with skilled artisans from diverse backgrounds, including refugee communities from Myanmar and Afghanistan, who brought their rich traditions of craftsmanship and hand-stitching to the table. This spirit of resilience and artistry laid the foundation for what Madison Stitch is today: a brand dedicated to crafting leather goods that embody the same grit, quality, and story-driven design that defined its origins.

Our Products: Where Rugged Meets Refined

At Madison Stitch, every piece we create is a blend of rugged durability and sophisticated design — what we like to call *Western Chic*. Inspired by the rugged elegance of the American West and refined with minimalist modern touches, our bags, belts, and wallets are built to endure and grow with you.

We work exclusively with Hermann Oak Leather Co., a legendary American tannery that has perfected the art of vegetable-tanned leather. This leather isn’t just tough; it’s alive. It ages beautifully, developing a patina that reflects the life you’ve lived with it. Combined with solid brass hardware, locally harvested wood, and hand-made precision, each piece we make is as unique as the individual who carries it.

Our Commitment to Craftsmanship and Community

Madison Stitch isn’t just a brand; it’s a community. Every bag, every weave, and every rivet is a collaboration of skilled hands and dedicated hearts. We work with in-house designers and refugee makers who bring their craftsmanship and traditions to every product. Their skill and pride are woven into each piece, creating goods that carry not just durability but soul.

Sustainability is also at the heart of what we do. By using vegetable-tanned leather and partnering with local suppliers, we honor both the environment and the people behind the process. Our commitment to slow fashion means creating pieces that last a lifetime, rather than contributing to the cycle of throwaway goods.

Western Chic: A Timeless Aesthetic

What is *Western Chic*? It’s the elegance of simplicity paired with the grit of a life well-lived. It’s the balance between rugged and refined — the kind of style that works as well on a bustling city street as it does on a quiet trail.

Our designs are practical yet sophisticated, capturing the essence of timeless style. Whether it’s the rich, pull-up leather of our Explorer Backpack, the understated elegance of our Mini Messenger, or the rugged functionality of our Mountain Belt, every piece is designed to complement your journey, wherever it takes you.
