Summer’s Story

Summer Glenn joined Madison Stitch as an intern in the summer of 2023, bringing with her a fresh, innovative approach from her graduate studies in industrial design at Kansas State University. Her journey with Madison Stitch began serendipitously when she met our founder, John, at a design event in Kansas City. Mentioning her search for a summer internship, which she needed to complete her degree, Summer quickly impressed John with her portfolio, and he offered her a spot in the studio.

Her time with us proved invaluable. Summer introduced best practices from her graduate program, designed three of our best-selling pieces — the weekender duffle, the mini-duffle, and the briefcase — and helped streamline our digital pattern-making operations. She also built a bridge between Madison Stitch and the Kansas State industrial design community, sparking a connection that has since opened doors for other students to share their talents with us.

But beyond her technical contributions, Summer brought an infectious spark to the studio. Her joyful energy inspired our motto, “Create Joy,” a guiding principle we now strive to bring to our work and to our customers.
