John Pryor had just opened his Madison Flitch furniture studio in Kansas City’s Crossroads when the pandemic hit this spring. Pryor pivoted to making masks and employed stitchers, many of whom are refugees, from the community. To keep providing a platform for these refugee stitchers, Pryor launched Madison Stitch, a handcrafted handbag company.
